Troubleshooting
Start with the specific symptom below. Your local library remains available during most network and account problems.
Sync is stuck
- Confirm the device is online and the account still has a paid plan.
- In desktop settings, refresh account status and run sync once.
- Leave the app open long enough for any large stored files to finish separately.
- If another device made changes offline, sync both devices and review the affected item.
Sign-in returns to the login screen
Close duplicate sign-in tabs, start sign-in again from the app, and finish the same browser flow. A desktop sign-in uses a short-lived handoff and deep link; an old callback cannot be reused. On Android, retry after confirming the app can reopen its stowspace: callback.
A large video download is slow
The item record and transcript can be available before a large media file finishes. Keep Stowspace running, check the network connection, and retry the file operation from the item if it reports an error.
The extension cannot reach desktop
Start the Stowspace desktop app once and check the extension bridge status in settings. The Windows background service must be installed and running. Reinstalling the desktop app restores the Chrome and Edge native-messaging registrations. Queued extension saves retry after the bridge returns.
Find desktop diagnostics
In the desktop app, open Settings > About & support. You can open the local log folder, export a sanitized diagnostics text file, clear local diagnostics, or start a report. Local logs are rotated, size limited, and kept for no more than seven days.
Still blocked
Keep a backup of your library, note the Stowspace version shown in the app or changelog, and record the exact action that failed. Use the support form to attach the diagnostics file, or email [email protected] if the form cannot be opened.
