Why Stowspace exists
Browser tabs are temporary, bookmarks rarely preserve the useful part of a page, and many reading services make continued access depend on an account. Stowspace was built around a different starting point: the durable library should live on the user’s computer.
That local library combines saved articles, selected passages, page snapshots, notes, and supported video transcripts with reading, search, highlights, tags, collections, reminders, and portable data tools.
Local by default. Connected by choice.
The free Windows app does not require an account. Hosted services become relevant only when someone chooses Android access, automatic synchronization, cloud archive, billing, or a specific AI action.
This boundary is reflected in the product and its public documentation: Stowspace explains what stays local, what synchronizes, which provider handles a request, and what remains available when a subscription ends.
