Terms of Service

The agreement for using Stowspace apps, accounts, paid services, sync, archive, and hosted AI.

Last updated: August 12, 2026

These Terms of Service govern your use of the Stowspace Windows app, Android app, Chrome and Edge extension, website, account services, paid sync and cloud archive, and hosted AI features.

The Windows library is free and works without an account. Accounts and payment are required only for connected services such as sync, cloud archive, and hosted AI.

Operator and agreement

Stowspace is operated by Alexandru Grecu, doing business as Stowspace, in Romania ("Stowspace," "we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account, purchasing a paid service, or using Stowspace, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement. Stowspace is not available to anyone under 18, and you must not use it where its use is prohibited. If you use Stowspace for an organization, you represent that you have authority to accept these Terms for that organization.

License to use the apps

Subject to these Terms, Stowspace grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the Stowspace Windows desktop app, Android app, and Chrome or Edge extension for your personal or internal business use. The free local app may be used without an account. This license does not transfer ownership of Stowspace software or branding.

You may not copy, sell, sublicense, distribute, or commercially exploit the apps except where Stowspace has expressly allowed it or applicable law does not permit that restriction. You may not bypass access, billing, security, usage-metering, or technical limits.

Account rules

You are responsible for accurate account information, protecting your credentials and connected devices, and activity under your account. Notify Stowspace promptly if you suspect unauthorized use. Do not share an account in a way that circumvents plan limits or impersonate another person.

An account is optional for the free local library but required for sync, cloud archive, hosted AI, billing, and other connected features. Stowspace may require email confirmation or a recent sign-in before sensitive account actions.

Saved content and capture

You retain your rights in material you create or save. You grant Stowspace a limited permission to process that material only as needed to provide features you choose, including local capture, paid sync and archive, and user-initiated AI actions.

Browser and Android capture is user-initiated. You are responsible for having lawful access to, and the right to save and process, every article, snippet, note, video, transcript, page, link, or selection you submit. Stowspace does not grant rights to third-party material merely because the software can save it.

The paid plan provides connected features such as sync, cloud archive, and hosted AI. Hosted AI is metered in credits. Included credits may reset with the applicable billing period; separately purchased credits are governed by the terms displayed at purchase. Current prices and plan details are shown in the pricing section.

Polar is the merchant of record. Checkout, payment collection, applicable taxes, invoices, subscription management, cancellations, and approved refunds are processed through Polar. You also agree to the terms presented by Polar during checkout.

You can cancel renewal through the billing portal. Cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the paid period shown there unless the checkout terms say otherwise. Ending a paid plan disables connected paid features but does not remove the free local library on your devices. See the Refund Policy.

AI features

AI actions are optional, user-initiated, hosted, and metered. When you request an AI action, relevant item text and instructions are sent through OpenRouter to the selected model provider. Stowspace does not offer bring-your-own-key processing and does not use your saved content to train models.

The AI & Upload Policyexplains what each AI action sends and what you should not submit.

AI output may be incomplete, inaccurate, or unsuitable. Review it before relying on or sharing it. Do not use AI features for decisions where an error could cause legal, medical, financial, safety, or other serious harm. Credits may still be charged when a provider performs work even if you do not use the output, subject to the metering behavior shown in the product.

Acceptable use

You must follow the Acceptable Use Policy. In particular, you must not break the law, violate another person's rights, submit material you are not authorized to access, distribute harmful code, access another user's data, or bypass service security, billing, rate limits, or technical controls.

Pre-production availability

Stowspace is a pre-production service under active development. Features, formats, limits, prices, providers, and availability may change. The service may be interrupted, reset, delayed, or withdrawn, and data may be lost despite reasonable safeguards. Keep independent copies of material that matters to you and export your library when appropriate.

Termination and account deletion

You may stop using the apps or cancel a paid plan at any time. You may request permanent account deletion from the Account page. Account deletion removes cloud copies, sync data, stored blobs, and the authentication account. Connected devices are instructed to wipe their local libraries when they next contact the service.

Stowspace may limit, suspend, or terminate access when reasonably necessary to protect users or the service, respond to legal requirements, address non-payment, or enforce these Terms. Where practical, Stowspace will provide notice and an opportunity to export local data, but urgent security or abuse situations may require immediate action.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Stowspace is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of uninterrupted operation, error-free results, fitness for a particular purpose, or preservation of every item. Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty or right that cannot legally be excluded.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Stowspace and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, lost profits, lost opportunities, or loss of data arising from the service. For claims that may legally be limited, aggregate liability will not exceed the amount you paid for Stowspace during the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. These limitations do not apply where applicable law prohibits them.

Changes to these terms

These Terms may be updated as Stowspace develops. The publication date and document version will change when updated. Material changes affecting existing accounts will be presented with an appropriate notice or renewed acceptance where necessary. Continuing to use the service after updated Terms take effect means you accept them.

Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Romania, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you are an EU consumer, you also retain the protection of mandatory consumer-law provisions in your country of habitual residence.

You and Stowspace submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Dolj County, Romania. This does not prevent an EU consumer from bringing a claim in another court available under mandatory consumer law. Before starting formal proceedings, please contact Stowspace so the issue can be reviewed. EU consumers can also consult the European Commission's directory of consumer dispute-resolution bodies.
