Privacy and your data
Your library is private by default. The free Windows app stores its SQLite database and saved files locally and works without an account.
When data reaches Stowspace servers
If you sign in and use paid sync, Stowspace stores the synced library records and cloud archive needed to make your library available on signed-in devices. Browser code on this site talks only to first-party API routes.
Hosted AI is a separate, consent-based action. Only the relevant title and saved content for the action are sent for processing; see AI features.
Desktop diagnostic logs stay on the Windows device unless you deliberately attach an exported text file to a support report. Optional anonymous Sentry EU error reporting is disabled by default and can be changed in Settings > About & support.
Your portable copy
The Windows desktop app can export a ZIP containing structured library.json, Markdown, article HTML, and available media. This backup does not depend on keeping a Stowspace subscription. See Import, export, and backups.
Delete an account
Account deletion requires a recent sign-in and an explicit DELETE confirmation. The cleanup removes synced database records, cloud blobs, registered devices, and the authentication user. Deletion receipts tell signed-in devices to erase account-scoped local data when they next connect.
Local-only desktop data is under your control. Export anything you want to keep before clearing local data or uninstalling.
